Hawar Resort, Bahrain

With travelers seeking deeper connections, unique experiences, and sustainable escapes, demand for extraordinary destinations has never been greater.  As we prepare to celebrate 80 years of WATG this year, we’re thrilled to showcase a collection of new openings that promises to redefine luxury and adventure.

Here is a round-up of some of the remarkable WATG projects, ranging from serene nature reserves to dynamic urban retreats, set to open in 2025:

Sharaan Nature Reserve, AlUla, KSA

A shared natural inheritance, in harmony with its cultural landscape, restored and protected for a sustainable future. This is a very special project. Since the inception of the development of the concept masterplan in the autumn of 2021, the consultant team has been guided by the conviction that the fewer the elements of the masterplan, the greater its success will be. Every recommendation and detail proposed for Sharaan Nature Reserve follows this adage and strives to reach a balance between conservation and visitor experience.

Viceroy at Ombria Algarve Architecture

Viceroy at Ombria, Algarve

Viceroy at Ombria, Algarve represents the pinnacle of luxury, sustainable hospitality, lifestyle, and amenities. Set amidst the countryside in Portugal’s Algarve, surrounded by olive groves and oak valleys, the site’s stunning topography and the picturesque setting were the ultimate inspiration for Wimberly Interiors and our architecture team.

Hotel Wuxi, MGallery Collection

Hotel Wuxi, MGallery Collection, China

Our Architecture and Interiors teams designed the Hotel Wuxi to weave a narrative that honors the spirit of place and Wu culture. Located in the historic Dangkou Ancient Town, known for its waterways, courtyard houses, and Jiangnan garden traditions, the hotel integrates the essence of harmony between nature and humanity. Drawing inspiration from local history and culture, the design extends the town’s iconic canals into the property, connecting different functional spaces like a library-inspired lobby, restaurants and guest rooms. Guests can immerse themselves in traditional crafts, arts, and community-centered programs, creating a richly authentic and participatory experience.

Regent Canggu Bali

A lifestyle destination with an array of quality beach clubs, restaurants, bars, cafes, fitness, yoga, and retail shops, the launch of Regent Bali Canggu marks an exciting chapter for the region. Offering a quaint brand of relaxed and sophisticated island luxury, the resort weaves together the charms of traditional local culture with fresh and uplifting contemporary design. The resort is poised to draw a new generation as well as affluent luxury travelers from near and far who are seeking new experiences, rejuvenation and cultural immersion on the island of Bali.

Four Seasons Cartagena - Historic Renovation

Four Seasons Cartagena, Colombia

WATG was commissioned to develop a renovation design for this elegant five-star hotel. Comprising four historically significant buildings dating back as early as 1918, Four Seasons Cartagena will be an adaptive reuse project that fully celebrates the local lifestyle and history of the region. The local government required that the majority of existing buildings be restored into courtyards and gathering areas, which WATG designed each with their own unique ambiance characteristic of Cartagena. A unique design challenge was the requirement by the local historical preservation authorities to preserve the original uses of select rooms of existing buildings, including ballrooms, feature courtyards, guest quarters, and the chapel.

Limelight Mammoth - The Magic of a 'Coolcation': Embracing Travel to Cold Climates

Limelight Boulder and Limelight Mammoth

WATG was commissioned to design the new Limelight Mammoth Lakes Hotel & Residences, a year-round destination inspired by the local active lifestyle and well-being. WATG’s Landscape studio also factored in sustainable considerations, including bioswales for water collection runoff and use of reclaimed wood panels for the porte cochere.

Limelight Boulder will be a destination for high-profile events and experiences linking the university, research, business, and nonprofit communities in Boulder. The facilities will be designed using beautiful, high quality, sustainable and timeless materials that reflect and celebrate Boulder’s values. A key planned design feature is a publicly accessible plaza that will create a gathering space for students, neighbors and visitors.
