Ian Memmott

As Managing Director of the EMEA region, Ian has over 35 years of project and cost management experience, offering impressive business and commercial acumen, concise analytical thinking, and deep knowledge of the design and delivery process. Prior to joining WATG as Managing Principal in January 2024, Ian operated his own business for 12 years. He was also a partner in Davis Langdon where he led the Hotels and Resorts group across Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

He has worked with the world’s leading clients, designers and operators delivering hospitality and mixed-use projects in the UK, Europe, Central Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Ian specializes in the organization and management of project teams and the development of project procurement and execution strategy.

Ian has worked on many notable new-build projects, including the Intu Costa del Sol in Spain, the St Regis Astana, the Waldorf Astoria in Doha and the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau and private residences in Saudi Arabia.  Having managed large international design teams in years past, he also has significant experience in large, complex refurbishment projects, such as Cumberland Hotel, UK, Sheraton & Wyndham Cable Beach Hotel, Bahamas, and landmark hotels in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Ras al Khaimah and Sharjah.
