Helen Cheung is a master planner with over 25 years of experience in planning and designing development of various types and scales. Helen has held leadership positions with highly respected planning and design firms including EDAW / AECOM and The Planning Center. During her 4 years with EDAW / AECOM China, Helen was a principal/executive director for the master planning practice in the Greater China region. She led project teams for a wide range of development projects including new town plans, master planned communities, tourism town plans, and destination resorts development. As a senior associate at EDAW / AECOM U.S. A., Helen was the lead designer on various domestic and international master planned communities, business and industrial park development, and military base communities.
Among the many master planned community projects planned and designed by Helen are the Verrado mixed-use community in Buckeye, Arizona which has won numerous awards in the real estate development industry; other built communities include Fragrant Mountain upscale master-planned community in Beijing, China; Brasilia 2 Sustainable Master Planned Community in Brasilia, Brazil; and Jinji Lake District 5 in Suzhou, China; Baoting Resort Master Plan in Hainan, China; and Beijing Capital Guest House in Beijing, China, slated to open in the fall of 2014 for the G20 summit.
