A Legacy of Partnership

With a long-standing partnership on multiple projects, MGM Resorts International turned to Wimberly Interiors to reimagine two of its most luxurious spaces within the renowned Bellagio Las Vegas: Club Privé and Baccarat. The goal of the renovation was to refresh the spaces for the next generation of globally influenced clientele, one with a distinct appreciation for design, while preserving the personal connection that Bellagio’s loyal guests have cultivated over decades. The challenge was to balance innovation with tradition, creating environments that felt fresh yet unmistakably iconic to the Bellagio name.

Wimberly Bellagio Club Prive
To inform a new visual narrative, the team explored the historic context of Lake Como, the inspiration behind Bellagio’s design since its opening in 1998.

The Design Concept

Wimberly Interiors sought to inform a new visual narrative by exploring the historic context of Lake Como, the inspiration behind Bellagio’s design since its opening in 1998. The team studied the Northern Italian region’s architecture, culture, and fashion, drawing insight from its refined aesthetic. In parallel, they engaged with key stakeholders at the Las Vegas resort to define what “Bellagio” means to its clientele. Through these conversations, they found that guests seek an experience that is glamorous, sophisticated, tailored, and effortless.

Building on this foundation, Wimberly Interiors developed a layered, experiential narrative centered around two distinct personas. Club Privé embodies the avant-garde spirit of the Privé family, where Baroque detailing meets modern opulence in an immersive, richly textured lounge. In contrast, Baccarat reflects heritage, exuding classic elegance, symmetry, and precision. Inspired by the Northern Italian personality and style, these personas shaped a design story that blends tradition with contemporary luxury. Club Privé’s secluded high-limit lounge embraces a bold interplay of historic grandeur and forward-thinking sophistication, while Baccarat memorializes the grandeur of the VIP gaming experience and remains a study in refined classical order.

Designed to be exclusive and inviting, these ultra-luxurious spaces attract guests and encourage them to linger.

Elegant Craftsmanship

The transformation introduced fully bespoke elements, from sculptural light fixtures and hand-painted wallcoverings to custom furniture and Italian-sourced textiles. Designed to be exclusive and inviting, these ultra-luxurious spaces attract guests and encourage them to linger. A true destination within Bellagio, the entrance to Club Privé sets the tone with a carved, curved marble portal surrounded by an ornamental metal screen with custom-designed crystal floral rosettes inspired by traditional Northern Italian decorative architectural metalwork, custom balustrades, and backlit panels, signaling that something special lies within. The existing architecture was reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, with jewel-toned finishes and refined detailing that elevate the interiors while maintaining a connection to Bellagio’s design legacy.

Lighting plays a defining role in each space. In Club Privé, a grand chandelier spans the ceiling, designed as a sculptural art piece that conveys fluidity through an ombré of faceted Czech crystals transitioning from amber to gold to clear. In Baccarat’s main gaming area, handblown glass chandeliers with vibrant red faceted crystals draw inspiration from the floral landscapes of Lake Como.

At the bar, intricate detailing becomes a focal point. In Club Privé, polished and textured metals, quartzite veining, and a copper-textured ceiling echo the shimmer of Lake Como’s waters. Custom LED lighting accentuates the sculptural quality of Baccarat’s chandeliers and Club Privé’s kinetic ceiling installation, adding a final layer of refinement.

Curated Materiality

Club Privé’s deep green-blue wall panels were meticulously color-matched to a classic Jaguar shade, achieved by photographing the car at an auto show and working with the manufacturer to replicate its exact tone. These lacquered, hand-painted panels are accented with a raking pattern and flecks of gold metallic. Embroidered chair textiles, crafted by an Italian artisanal manufacturer, take inspiration from Northern Italy’s gardens.

Furnishings and finishes further distinguish each lounge. Club Privé leans into modern sophistication, while Baccarat embraces timeless grandeur. High-pile Italian textiles, rich leather upholstery, and bespoke accessories enhance the luxurious atmosphere, complemented by marble and quartzite surfaces with striking contrasting veining used for bar counters, tables, and flooring. Burl walnut veneers with high-gloss finishes further enrich the space with depth and warmth.

Signature wallcoverings, originally hand-painted and exclusively designed by Wimberly Interiors, were transformed into commercial wallcoverings that remain unique to Bellagio. A striking wallcovering in vibrant luxe orange, inspired by Hermès jewelry boxes, along with deep regal plum and Baccarat red wallcoverings, all evoke a sense of opulent sophistication. Deep red hues, derived from Baccarat Crystals, further reinforce the space’s namesake heritage. Appliqué champagne gold-painted florals, initially hand-rendered by the design team, were reimagined as wallcoverings used on Club Privé’s ceiling and Baccarat’s walls, visually connecting the two spaces.

Since unveiling the redesigned spaces, Bellagio’s VIP have noted that the new design feels fresh and contemporary yet unmistakably “so Bellagio.”

The Result: Two Spaces, One Story

While Club Privé embraces a bolder, more boundary-pushing aesthetic, Baccarat remains classic and refined. The interplay between heritage and modernity creates a dynamic experience, while opulent materials and custom design details unify the two spaces.

The renovation of Club Privé and Baccarat has redefined luxury gaming at Bellagio, offering an intimate and inviting experience that is modern yet deeply rooted in tradition. The refreshed VIP gaming salons, now enriched with deep plum, orange, and red hues, and featuring refinished wood tones in a fresh, lighter boiserie finish, encourage longer stays with the addition of exclusive buffet zones and private dining options.

Bellagio’s most valued guests have noted that the new design feels fresh and contemporary yet unmistakably “so Bellagio”—a testament to Wimberly Interiors’ ability to honor legacy while embracing evolution.
