Architecture
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, a landmark project for Hard Rock International, is set to become a premier entertainment destination in Canada. The project involves a significant expansion and renovation of the existing building, integrating the signature Hard Rock experience with contemporary luxury and enhanced gaming offerings.
Project Highlights
Podium Expansion & Casino Renovation
The podium expansion, spanning approximately 136,000 sq. ft., will transform the existing Rideau Carleton Racetrack into a world-class entertainment venue. The renovation of the 51,150 sq. ft. casino will significantly expand gaming options, introducing up to 1,600 slot machines and 50 table games.
In addition to the gaming expansion, guests will enjoy new entertainment venues, including a state-of-the-art, 1,800-seat live showroom. The expansion will also feature a diverse range of dining and retail options, such as a food hall, Hard Rock Café, steakhouse, noodle bar, Plum Lounge, Rock Shop, and Unity & Sportsbook. Behind the scenes, enhanced back-of-house facilities will support these amenities, with upgrades to restrooms, loading docks, and other operational spaces.
Hotel Tower
A 92,000 sq. ft., 5-story hotel tower will be added to the facility, offering 150 luxurious rooms, including both standard and suite configurations. The tower will be equipped with a fitness center and comprehensive back-of-house services to support guest needs, including additional restrooms, room service kitchen, valet, coat check, and more.
Design & Experience
With Hard Rock International’s iconic branding and commitment to immersive experiences, this project promises to elevate the entertainment landscape in Ottawa. The design blends the excitement of a high-end gaming facility with the comfort and style of a world-class hotel, creating a destination where guests can enjoy everything from live shows to premium dining and relaxation.
Expected to be completed by November 2025, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa will position itself as a major draw for both locals and tourists, providing a new level of entertainment in Canada’s capital. This expansion not only enhances the gaming and hospitality experience but also contributes to the city’s tourism and economy, bringing jobs and boosting the local entertainment industry.
