Founded in 1945 in Waikiki, WATG’s Honolulu studio has been responsible for award winning local properties including Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, The Fairmont Kea Lani, Turtle Bay Resort renovation, and Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa and the firm’s first commission on the iconic Royal Hawaiian Resort in Waikiki.
Founded in 1945 in Waikiki, WATG’s Honolulu studio has been responsible for many award winning local properties.
Four Seasons Resort, Maui
Wimberly Interiors studios in Miami and Honolulu lead the renovation for the Four Seasons Resort Maui. The design takes its cues from the legends of the Hawaiian Islands, while weaving in the elegance and luxury of the Four Seasons brand. The overall palette for the revitalized guestrooms takes inspiration from the natural landscape that can be found outside the property’s windows. The tones of the ocean, sand and beach foliage come together to create a textural palette, with layers of saturated tones. The design characteristics are very clean lined, tailored and fresh but the overall atmosphere remains elegant and residential.
Residence Inn by Marriott, Wailea
An integrated design project by WATG’s Honolulu and Irvine studios, the recently opened Residence Inn by Marriott Wailea is an extended-stay property featuring resort-like amenities that provide guests with the convenience and comfort to live like a local. The Landscape has been designed to line the entry drive with a variety of royal palms, leading you up Wailea Iki Drive, setting the scene from the arrival. Upon entering the open-air lobby in the 200-room, four-story Residence Inn, guests are immediately greeted and immersed with the beauty of Wailea with views of the Pacific Ocean. The Residence suites, ranging in size from one-bedroom to two-bedrooms, open to expansive views of the ocean or mountainside. The stylish and modern suites come fully equipped with kitchens, functional work spaces, and generous balconies.
Pacific Beach Hotel, Waikiki
WATG has been enlisted as the architect of record for the guestroom portion of the renovation of Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki Beach on Oahu, with interior design by the Rockwell Group. The transformation of the guestrooms is part of the hotel’s overall $115 million redevelopment that will see it re-emerge in fall 2017 as ‘Alohilani Resort’ at Waikiki Beach, an entirely new and exciting Waikiki Beach destination resort. The guestrooms are being designed with a contemporary flair, blending distinctive Hawaiian style with a modern beach house ambiance. Managed by Highgate, the hotel will remain fully operational during all phases of construction and guests can already experience the redesigned guest rooms and suites that recently debuted.
The Spa at the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki
Wimberly Interiors lead the design of The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Waikiki which opened last month. The spa design is that of a relaxing environment with colors and textures inspired by the blue waters and sandy beaches of the surrounding area. Glass and stone with accents of timber bring the elements and character of Honolulu to the design in a contemporary and modern interpretation. The tranquil feel of the interior captures that quiet moment when one can escape all the excitement of Waikiki and enjoy the soothing sound of the ocean, and beauty of the sunlight as it reflects the water’s surface.
“With Ritz-Carlton residents exacting standards in mind, the spa is more than just an amenity, it’s a lifestyle experience designed with that in mind” said Shaleah Soliven, Associate, Wimberly Interiors.
